The city of Aspen will close the ABC Trail at the Maroon Creek bridge, from Tiehack Road to the Aspen Golf Course, beginning Monday, Sept. 21. The closure will last approximately three weeks while crews complete concrete trail and sub-surface repair work.

During the closure, trail users will be detoured to the Maroon Creek Trail, Tiehack Bridge and Tiehack Road. People who regularly walk or bike along the ABC Trail are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and allow additional time for their trips.

This project is designed to improve the trail surface and provide a smoother experience for commuters, cyclists, pedestrians, and recreational users once the work is complete.

The city asks trail users to follow all posted closure and detour signs and stay out of active construction areas.

The city appreciates the community’s patience while this work is completed and looks forward to reopening the trail with an improved surface.
