To protect the surrounding natural environment, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure a seamless visit during peak leaf-peeping season, the Town of Breckenridge is implementing a temporary seasonal shuttle service for Aspen Alley.

From September 12 through October 3rd, general vehicle parking at the Wakefield Trailhead will be fully closed to public parking.

The Wakefield lot will remain accessible only for two designated ADA-compliant spaces.

During this period, a free 14-passenger shuttle van will run continuous loops between the Breckenridge Ice Rink and the Wakefield Trailhead.

Dates: September 12 – October 3, 2026

Hours: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM daily

Route: Continuous loop from the Breckenridge Ice Rink / Illinois Creek Trailhead to the Wakefield Trailhead

Cost: Free

Notes: Well-behaved, leashed dogs allowed on shuttles as capacity allows. No capacity for bikes.

For more information about the temporary shuttle program as well as alternative options for getting to the trail, visit the town’s information page here.
