This steep East Vail trail is one of the most popular in the area due to its impressive 60’ waterfall at the top. Covered with Aspen trees, followed by wildflowers and spruces higher up, its beauty is complimented by views of the Vail Valley and Eagles Nest Wilderness.

This is a difficult hike that gives you plenty of excuses to take a break.  While not  part of this route, Booth Lake is an addition 2.5 miles and 1700’ up the trail for extremely ambitious hikers.

Note the trailhead is small and limited, check with the town of Vail on legal parking options as ticketing/towing is commonplace

There are several vantage points of the falls, so don’t be afraid to walk around and get a good look. However, due to snowmelt in the summer, the edges of certain points throughout the hike may be slippery. It is advisable to not get too close to the edges.
