Blue Sky Loop

Penitente Canyon, a Bureau of Land Management Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA), features over 20 miles of trails open to mountain biking and hiking.

Penitente Canyon is also an internationally recognized climbing area, offering more than 300 incredible sport climbing routes. South-facing routes can be climbed year-round.

Other attractions within Penitente include trout fishing in La Garita Creek, the Natural Arch (aka La Ventana), developed campground (reservations available through recreation.gov) and primitive campsites.
