This is a long hike, and is actually closer to 15 miles round trip.  The Challenge Hil Trail at the start of this trip is very steep and going either up or down is the hardest part of the route.  The Stone Guard, Peak Approach and Summit Loop Trails are closed March 15 - July 31, which means you can’t hike all the way to the summit during that time period. Bikes are also not permitted on Stone Guard, Peak Approach and Summit Loops Trails at any time.

If you want to visit the trail during that time period, at the very least you should hike to Ositia Point.

Dogs are not allowed on any trails in Fishers Peak State Park.  Entry fees do apply.
