Actual GPS measured distance of this loop is 10.8 miles (COTREX tends to under-estimate mileage)

A fishing or hunting license, or a State Wildlife Area Recreation Pass is required for EACH adult to hike in the SWA. You can get a SWA pass or one day fishing license at Mueller State Park. No dogs or bikes allowed. No camping allowed.

This hike is best done clockwise. The first 2 miles are fairly steep, and then gets easier after.

The creek crossing at the far end of the loop at about 5.6 miles can be difficult during high flows, especially after a rainstorm. Keep that in mind when planning your hike.

Difficulty rating is mostly due to length.

Since this is a SWA, there are hunters in the area during hunting season. Wear hunter orange when hiking there during hunting season.
