The entire Pearl lake Trail is a ~3.5 mile out and back trail that begins in Pearl Lake State Park and continues on through the Routt National Forest. The first ~1 mile is in the park and follows the southwest shore of the lake providing great scenery, views of farewell mountain, and lake access. After ~1 mile the trail enters Routt National Forest and becomes a little steeper/more difficult.
