The North Sand Creek Trail is a multi-use OHV trail that connects the park to the North Sand Hills Recreation Area. It is open for hiking/biking, and horseback riding but is primarily used by OHV riders.

The North Sand Hills are a unique area of sand and dunes set below the peaks of the Rawah wilderness. There is also access to the dunes from the north side on BLM land. The trail to the dunes goes between open sagebrush with good views of the valley and aspen groves.

There are seasonal restrictions on the trail (usually closed 11/1-6/1) so be sure to check with the visitor center for current conditions and current open/closed dates
