Mount Oxford
Mount Oxford is part of the 14er group Belford/Oxford/Missouri in the Collegiate Peak wilderness. Mount Oxford is most commonly climbed from Mount Belford across a ridge connecting the two. For more specific information on Mount Belford, here is the Mount Belford Featured Route.
From the summit of Mount Belford, the west ridge route to Mount Oxford is mostly visible. From the summit it is ~1.5 miles with 1,500 feet of elevation gain so be sure of the weather/conditions before committing to the route.
Not long after you leave the summit of Mount Belford, there is another trail that leads to Missouri Mountain/Elkhead Pass, stay going straight/east towards Mount Oxford. Most of the route is on a easy to follow trail, its just the last little bit before the summit that can be harder to follow, although pretty straightforward.
From the summit you will then retrace your steps along the ridge, back to Mount Belford and down (Unless you want to also summit Missouri Mountain, which is described in more detail in its own featured route)
Class: 2. Mount Oxford is considered class 2, due to a few rocky areas near the summit of Belford and Oxford but much of it is on a very well maintained trail.
Trailhead/Parking: The trailhead is open seasonally (conditions dependent) so contact the forest service for current conditions. It is also on a maintained dirt road suitable for any standard vehicle.
