Dream Lake Trail

The Dream lake trail lives up to its name as it is one of the most popular and beautiful lakes in the park. This easy 1 mile out and back trail begins at the Bear lake Trailhead and climbs gradually until you reach the eastern shores of the lake. Along the trail there are great views to the south of glacier gorge and Long’s peak. At the lake, the towering summits of Hallett Peak and Flattop Mountain (in the latter’s case, its not actually the summit you are seeing) dominate the view. Dream lake is more than worthy of a destination in its own right but many people will continue on to Emerald Lake or Lake Haiyaha as well.  Dream lake is a year-round destination but if you go in the winter, make sure you are prepared for the cold and conditions.

Note: The Bear Lake Trailhead can be very busy and the park does provide a free shuttle service. Contact the park or check their website for more information on parking.
