Emerald Lake Trail

Emerald Lake is a beautiful alpine lake situated at treeline above dream lake and beneath Hallett Peak and Flattop Mountain. It is a popular hike with a ~1.6 mile trail that climbs with moderate grades above the slightly more popular Dream lake. Emerald lake is the end of the trail that starts at the Bear Lake trailhead and passes Nymph and Dream lakes. It is possible to get here year round but in winter make sure you are prepared for the cold and windy conditions often found here.

Note: The Bear Lake Trailhead can be very busy and the park does provide a free shuttle service. Contact the park or check their website for more information on parking.
