Lake Haiyaha is a beautiful lake found in Rocky Mountain national park. It is most often accessed via a ~1.9 mile moderate hike from the Bear Lake trailhead but can also be accessed from a longer/steeper/more rugged trail from Glacier Gorge. Lake Haiyaha is known for its stunning color and scenery sitting at the base of Hallett Peak. This lake can be accessed in the winter but the ‘winter’ trail often deviates from the summer trail making it hard to follow. It also crosses  steeper/more avalanche prone slopes so extra knowledge on avalanche conditions and snow travel is needed.

Note: The Bear Lake Trailhead can be very busy and the park does provide a free shuttle service. Contact the park or check their website for more information on parking.
