Sandbeach Lake is a beautiful sub-alpine lake reached via moderate 4.25 mile trail. The lake is unique in that its eastern shore is a large sandy beach area as opposed to the rocky shores of other lakes in the park, making for a beautiful place to explore or have a picnic. Although most of the trail is through conifer forest, the views at the end are worth the hike. This is most often done as a day hike but there are multiple backcountry sites along the trail (make sure to check with park/website as reservations are required and usually sell out not long after being made public).

The Sandbeach Lake Trailhead is located along the road to the Wild Basin area in Southeast Rocky Mountain National Park (be sure to consult the website or the park directly for parking/entry information).
