Finch Lake
Finch lake is a scenic mountain lake reached via ~4.25 mile trail from the Finch Lake Trailhead. It can also be reached from outside the park from a trailhead near Allenspark but is most commonly accessed from this trail inside the park.
The trail climbs steadily and at times steeply leaving the trailhead but does moderate some as you get closer to the lake. The lake itself and a couple spots along the trail, provide great views to the north of Long’s Peak and the continental divide to the west.
This is most often done as a day hike but there are multiple backcountry sites along the trail (make sure to check with park/website as reservations are required and usually sell out not long after being made public).
The Finch Lake Trailhead is located in the Wild Basin area in Southeast Rocky Mountain National Park (be sure to consult the website or the park directly for parking/entry information).
