Blue Lake in Indian Peaks Wilderness Area (6.0 miles)

It was a fantastic day! It was cool and partly sunny. We started hiking late in the afternoon, so most hikers were coming down. Near Blue Lake, we crossed a small stream that had brook trout in it. I almost grabbed one, but it slipped from my hand. When we arrived at Blue Lake, nobody else was there. On the way down, we saw two moose, a cow and a calf. They were busy eating and ignored us. Two other guys up there were terrified to continue down. The moose were well off the trail. Neither of them had seen a moose before. We went first, then waited for them to get past. My daughter and I ended the day with a late dinner at BJ’s Brew Pub in Boulder, Colorado. 🏔️🌲🏔️
