Mayflower Gulch to Boston Mine

Mining Camp Ghost
Town with a View

Featured Route
in White River National Forest, Rocky Mountains
  • Total Length
    3¼mi
  • Ascent
    629ft
  • Difficulty
    Moderate

The road initially climbs through a spruce/fir forest before coming out into open alpine terrain at some old mining cabins of Boston Mine. Just as rewarding as the mining camp itself, views of Mayflower Gulch may very well steal the show.

Be on the lookout for marmots scrambling around the hillsides or cabins. In the fall, you’ll be in for quite the colorful show from this viewpoint.
