Old Mill to Mason Creek Loop

Featured Route
in Staunton State Park
  • Total Length
    8¼mi
  • Ascent
    1,530ft
  • Difficulty
    Moderate

This route gives access to some of the best three overlooks in the park and a walk through part of its history. You will pass several standing historic structures and even an Old Mill that was built in the 1930’s. In the autumn months, some of the best aspen tree colors in Staunton State Park can be seen on the Mason Creek Trail.

The trip is one of the more strenuous hikes with some good elevation gain going up Old Mill.
