Carnage Canyon

Carnage Canyon itself is less than a mile long but one of the most extreme rock crawling challenges in the area. Heading due east from the trailhead, you’ll spend the better part of an entire day crawling to the canyon’s ultimate intersection with Chinaman Gulch for the loop back to the trailhead.

Don’t even attempt unless you have a winch, 35” tires or greater, willingness to accept real damage to your vehicle, and confidence in your own experience.

ATVs and motorcycles are absolutely not recommended on this stretch. Yansing Gulch is a less harrowing alternative immediately north of the canyon.
