Monument and Wedding Canyon Loop

Try this difficult loop for a more adventurous hike from the Lower Monument Canyon Trailhead. Continue along the established Monument Canyon Trail until the base of Independence Monument. Turn right to find the faint Wedding Canyon Trail, which the park does not maintain. It will have some rough portions, so be prepared for route-finding and lose footing.

Like much of this area, you may encounter bighorn sheep. Keep your distance and enjoy! Be sure to bring more than enough water in the park’s backcountry.
