mdhThis was our first time hiking Rutherford trail! We wore microspikes all the way up to the mining ruins. Trail was all packed snow. We didn’t see anyone else until we arrived on Sporting Times trail, close to the Silver Dale townsite.
I agree it’s my responsibility to verify with the appropriate land manager that I am in compliance with all regulations that may apply on public lands.

Obtain permission before entering private lands and check with appropriate government offices for restrictions that may apply to public lands.

Seasonal weather conditions and natural events may render designated roads, trails, and areas impassable for extended periods. Many designated roads, trails, and areas may be passable only by high-clearance or four-wheel drive vehicles. Maintenance of designated roads, trails, and areas will depend on available resources and many may receive little maintenance.
